The 2 questions asked were about my love for nature and how it correlates w/ service, and confidence for women in general. these questions were for someone conserning confidince in dating but can and should be used for life in general.
Confidence is the more in depth one. Some one once told me that we are all just kids, just some of us have more responsibility. Confidence is tricky. If we pray for it, for a situation (a talk, a date, ect.), Heavenly Father grants us temporary confidence for that situation. But if we pray for it in our daily life if doesn’t seem to come so quickly. In truth confidence is not given in our daily lives, but earned. This is where it gets difficult, but prayer always helps these things come quicker.
I believe we start with a lie called “ I can’t”. We all tell ourselves or tell others that we do not posses the skill or ability to accomplish the task at hand, when in truth we have not even given it an honest try to know if we even can accomplish it, and the majority of the time when we apply ourselves, continually, we find there is little we can’t accomplish. Here is what you do;
1)set a goal. Set a challenging yet obtainable goal. We as people do not grow without challenge. So it is good to push ourselves, but our goals NEED to be something we can complete. It is ok to start small. Try just standing next to someone you’re interested in for set amounts of time. When you have accomplished that goal a minimal of 2 times, increase the stakes. Go for a longer time. Before it get weird set a goal of talking to said someone. Start small. Just say hi. That’s it. Each time you try accomplish a goal you find that it gets easier and easier. The field has not changed, nor the game, but you will have. Your skill WILL increase with each failure and each success. Oh… let there be no mistake, some times in this process you fail, its normal. Failure is apart of that “challenge” we talked about earlier that helps us grow. JUST KEEP TRYING. Apply yourself, you will succeed, I know you will.
2)write it down. This has 2 parts.
A)grab a 5x7 card and write the goal on one side of the card, and on the other side write philippians 4:13. Keep this card with you at all times. This is important, to remind yourself through out the day. It will help you accomplish your goals quicker.
B)every time you set a goal or accomplish a goal. Write it down. If you so choose, write some thing about it, an experience, a feeling, or how hard it was. In the times we fail, these notes help us push forward to try again.
3)pray. Pray pray pray. Our Heavenly Father loves us and loves to here from us. He longs to help us if we would only call on him and give him the opportunity to bless us abundantly.
This is one of my favorite scriptures;
d&c 88:45,47
45 The earth arolls upon her wings, and the bsun giveth his light by day, and the moon giveth her light by night, and the stars also give their light, as they roll upon their wings in their glory, in the midst of the cpower of God.
47 Behold, all these are akingdoms, and any man who hath bseen any or the least of these hath cseen God dmoving in his majesty and power.
I invite you to look up olives, cold press, olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, and anything you might want to study concerning olives. It will make for great conversation at any table. I like to write in my journal (when I write in it ) about what is going on around me in the area I’m in . what flowers are in bloom what fruit is in season, and what the leaves are doing on what tree. I believe gardens help us with service. We become very proud of what we accomplished by growing a huge tomato vine , or a huge carrot or corn patch and to share that joy with someone they have to try it…. then wala!!! Service naturally appears. (service does not mean not enjoying the act of giving nor does it mean I can not receive something for my actions. If someone returns the favor in that way or some other then service has gone full circle and has been made complete(it is made to work this way). Mind you, we should strive for a service where we get little or nothing back (on this sphere or life time), this is the higher form of service, I believe Christ serves this way. But joy comes naturally, a by product of service and we should not feel guilty for it). and here is where it gets really cool. GOD our Heavenly Father, is continually growing a garden all around us and as much as we want others to enjoy in our small little gardens, our Heavenly Father wants us, and so much more, to enjoy his gardens and all the little surprises he has left for us to find and to share these things with others who would other wise not know. so I invite you to look up olives. And next time you see some thing cool I.e. a unique leaf, a sun set that cannot be described in words ,a moon rising, a pretty flower, a good smell, a great smell, a sweet smell, share it with someone, for sharing is serving and serving is showing love, and Heavenly Father is pure love.
